A Little Princess is a children's nobel by Frances is a sweet, wonderful children's nobel by Frances Hodgson Burnett.  The School Library Journal named the book a "Top 100 Chapter Book" in 2012.

It is about Sarah Crewe, a very rich child who is sent to Miss Minchin's boarding school for girls in London. Although some of the wordiness can be difficult, it is wonderful for anyone above third grade, and anyone below that would certainly enjoy having it read to them.

The Little Princess is sweet, soft, and incredibly beautiful, with strong coming-of-age themes.

Persuasion is a wonderful classic written in the 1800s. This book takes the perspective of the 27 year old Ms. Anne Elliot, a respectable young woman of high birth who has turmoil raging inside of her. Ms. Austen writes about the troubles and conflict inside of a young woman who was persuaded not to marry the man she loved when she was 19 . But 8 years later, the man returns, now a wealthy captain who is looking to marry one of her cousins.

This book shares the thoughts of women in the 1800s along with the snares and snarls of nobility and family ties. This book is probably for teens and up, but have a dictionary near by, because you will need it.
